PUBLIC EMPLOYEES
Local 3 represents thousands of workers employed by cities, counties and special government districts throughout Northern California and Nevada. The mission of the Public Employees Division is to provide these public-sector workers with professional labor representation and to organize new public employee units.
In recent years, public employees have been under an unprecedented attack from anti-labor activists seeking to divide the labor movement. Local 3’s Public Employee members are uniquely positioned to push back against these attacks, thanks to the diversity of essential work they perform for their communities and the resources and support available to them, as part of the largest construction local in the U.S.
