Oppose Prop 6 – Stop the attacks on local bridge and road safety!

Vote NO on Prop 6!

Proposition 6 would eliminate more than $54 billion in transportation funds and slow, halt or end nearly 7,000 projects currently underway in California. Besides employing thousands of Operating Engineers throughout the state, these projects are vitally needed to address California’s infrastructure problems, which include more than 1,600 structurally deficient and unsafe bridges and overpasses, and roads that are in “poor” or “at-risk” condition. These issues have become a major factor in increased vehicle collisions and accidents that result in thousands of fatalities each year.  Click here to learn more.

Some of the major projects in Local 3’s jurisdiction threatened by Prop. 6 include the $730 million Valley Transit Authority’s (VTA’s) BART Silicon Valley Extension project in Morgan Hill District 90, the over $500 million Valley Rail project in Stockton District 30, the $318.6 million Transbay Corridor Core Capacity Program in Burlingame District 01, the $278.3 million Hwy. 50 Rehab. Pavement project in Sacramento District 80 and the nearly $100 million Hwy. 99 Selma and Fowler Rehab. Pavement project in Fresno District 50.
