CaliforniaSet to break ground in late 2012, High-Speed Rail (HSR) is a vital project in California. A revised business plan was approved in April of 2012 by the California High Speed Rail Authority. As a result, the California Alliance for Jobs released a short video challenging stakeholders and decision-makers to be bold, visionary thinkers and reminding them, "Wimps didn't build California. People with grit and dreams did." Watch the video below.

It is estimated that as many as 100,000 construction-related jobs will be supported each year that the system is being built. This project not only means jobs but means that California will be able to keep pace with other contries around the world by developing a world-class transportation system that will continue to place California as an industry leader in technology, infrastructure improvements and much more.

Political Director Mark Kyle was recently quoted saying, "We're not talking about spending $98 billion today or the next year, two or three years. We're talking about spending it over 20, 25, 30 years," Kyle said. "We're going to have 50 million people here (in California) in 20 years. We can either have an F-grade transportation system and all be stuck in gridlock, or we can move forward with a green alternative." Read the full article, click here.
