In keeping with Local 3’s commitment to lowering health care costs, a disease management program operated by CorSolutions is now available to qualified Local 3 members and dependents. Participants must be covered by the pensioned health and welfare or California active health and welfare comprehensive plans.
CorSolutions is one of the nation’s leading health intelligence and solutions companies. It has proven successful in helping individuals with chronic illnesses manage their health and improve their quality of life. The program is voluntary, confidential and involves no out-of-pocket expense. CorSolutions works with clients using a telephone approach targeting four patient groups. Eligible members must be diagnosed with coronary artery disease, diabetes, congestive heart failure or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
To help eligible patients manage their health, CorSolutions has registered nurses available for telephone consultation 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Patients can connect with a nurse ready to answer questions about symptoms, medications or any other health-related concern via a toll-free number. All calls are documented, so any nurse on duty will have access to a patient’s history and condition.
By empowering members to take control of their health, CorSolutions reduces the costs associated with delayed treatment or avoidable complications. In addition to the support line, the program includes access to an interactive Web site where participants can track their food intake, conduct heart health assessments and print custom reports to show their doctors.
