Scholarship Program
Operating Engineers Local 3 represents the interests of people who build and protect. With that in mind, we want to build and protect the future of the Operating Engineers by supporting those who aspire to further their education with the help of the Local 3 Scholarship program. Academic Scholarships

Four college scholarships will be awarded to sons, daughters, stepchildren and foster children of Local 3 members. Two scholarships of $3,000 each will be awarded to the first-place female and male applicants. For the second-place male and female applicants, two scholarships of $2,000 each will be awarded. Each scholarship recipient will receive an additional $1,000 for the second, third and fourth years of college, if they remain a full-time student. These scholarships can only be used for study at any accredited college or university located in the U.S.

Twenty $500 scholarships will be awarded to sons, daughters, stepchildren, and foster children of members of Local 3 members. These scholarships must be used for study at any accredited college or trade school located in the U.S.
Operating Engineers Local 3 scholarships will not impose restrictions of any kind on the course of study. Recipients may accept any other grants or awards that do not rule out scholarship aid from other sources.
